About Me
My name is Sienna. My Chinese name is 笑, which means “smile.” I’m a writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve been writing stories since I was ten years old, and even before that, I aspired to be a writer. I love arts as a form of expression and how writing brings with it the ability to explore new worlds.
When I write, I feel like I’m connecting to these characters—to these people with their own hopes and dreams and aspirations. I’ve never felt that these characters belong to me per se; rather, I’ve had the honor of having them let me into their worlds and put their stories on paper. It’s an interesting relationship in how, after all the time we spent together, I know everything about them, but they will never know anything about me. Maybe that’s just part of the beauty of it.
I wrote my first novel at the age of thirteen, although before that, I dabbled in (cringy) fanfiction. My first novel was by no means a masterpiece, but it was the first draft of The Four Gods Of Hali and what would be the real start of my writing journey.
From my early elementary school years.
